77 Hours and 197 miles
A mere 77 hours and 197 miles after purchasing the Jetta TDI…

I was stopped at a red light and the when the light turned greed they accelerated into me. Simple physics shows that two objects can’t occupy the same space at once. I’m not happy about what happened, but what am I going to do? The damage didn’t look too bad and it’s probably a fairly easy repair.
The Volkswagen dealer recommended I take it to North Ranch Bodycraft, and so I did. I dropped it off and picked up the rental.
I got a Prius! The opposite of fun.
The MPG on it was fantastic, from 62 MPG to an overall average of 53+ MPG over the 850 miles I had it. It was a functional car and did the job of gas sipping. I never test drove the Prius before getting the Jetta, but after this extended test drive I know this isn’t the car for me.
Finally after 10 days I was able to swap out the Prius for my Jetta. North Ranch Bodycraft did a wonderful job and kept me informed via email the whole tile. I hope I don’t have to take anything back to them anytime soon.
I was standing in the office of North Ranch along with another customer and I commented to the guy helping me that I was glad to be rid of the Prius and gave a brief comment about how it wasn’t fun to drive. The other customer said, “I’m here to pick up my Prius.” Silence, not awkward, but silence.
Driving + MPG = Prius
Driving + MPG + Fun = Jetta TDI
